Brian T. Keane will lead CCA Health Michigan, formerly known as Reliance Healthcare

DETROIT – Commonwealth Care Alliance® (CCA), a national multistate healthcare organization with proven expertise in complex care coordination and delivery, has named healthcare industry veteran Brian Keane to lead its Michigan operations. This announcement follows CCA’s majority stake acquisition of Michigan-based Reliance Healthcare and its recent rebranding to CCA Health Michigan

Under Keane’s leadership, CCA Health Michigan will launch its uncommon care® model in the state, serving individuals in southeast Michigan with high-quality health plans designed for those eligible for Medicare or dually eligible for Medicare and Medicaid.

“We’re thrilled to welcome Brian to our growing Michigan team, especially as we amplify our efforts to highlight the work we are doing through CCA Health Michigan and reinforce our commitment to transforming healthcare for individuals with significant needs,” said Courtney Murphy, CCA President of Markets. “Brian’s industry expertise and deep Michigan roots will be invaluable as we partner with members, providers, community organizations, and state agencies to innovate and improve healthcare coordination, delivery, and outcomes in the state.”

As CCA Health Michigan’s new general manager, Keane brings deep experience in the highly regulated Medicaid/Medicare arena. He was most recently vice president of Medicaid programs for Michigan-based Health Alliance Plan. He has also held leadership roles at Benefit Administrative Systems, Aetna Better Health of Illinois, MHS Health Wisconsin – Centene, and Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan.

“By prioritizing unmet social and behavioral health needs and providing complex and coordinated care for individuals with significant needs, CCA Health Michigan is focused on unlocking patients’ potential to live fuller, healthier, and more fulfilling lives,” said Keane. “CCA’s vision is to continue expanding and transforming healthcare options for individuals across the United States who face barriers to care, and we are proud to play a role in that positive change here in Michigan.”

CCA’s uncommon care model empowers high-needs individuals by providing a tailored approach to treating each member’s health needs. This includes a holistic approach to combating health disparities by identifying and addressing each member’s unique and individualized barriers to good health including food and housing insecurity, transportation, mental health and substance use disorder services, crisis support and more.

CCA Health Michigan’s plans serve individuals eligible for Medicare and those on both Medicare and Medicaid in seven Southeast Michigan counties: Genesee, Lapeer, Macomb, Monroe, Oakland, St. Clair and Wayne.

The launch of CCA Health Michigan follows the announcement of CCA’s majority stake acquisition of Reliance Healthcare, which included Medicare plans, Accountable Care Organization (ACO) assets, and a 600-member physician organization (PO). The acquisition creates jobs for Michiganders and advances CCA’s goal of geographic diversification and growth as it expands the reach of its nationally recognized model of care.
