Corey McCarty, General Manager of CCA Health Rhode Island, participated in a panel at the Providence Business News 2023 Spring Health Care Summit, discussing the challenges impacting healthcare systems in Rhode Island and beyond. These hurdles include a workforce shortage and financial difficulties resulting from the COVID-19 pandemic, which will require collaboration throughout the industry to overcome.
“I would describe the healthcare system as fragile, and I think that’s consistent across the country,” McCarty said.
We are seeing a shortage across the delivery system, particularly in some key areas that have a big impact: we are seeing it in skilled nursing facilities, in home health care and home health agencies, in behavioral health,” McCarty added.
