CCA Massachusetts General Manager Mark Waggoner spoke to The Daily Item about the fifth anniversary of the Lynn Community Health Center (LCHC) Mobile Market, a partnership between LCHC, the Greater Boston Food Bank and CCA. On the first Saturday of each month, the market provides healthy food for LCHC patients and community members who need it.
The market is staffed by volunteers and has given out 420,283 meals in the last five years.
“Volunteering alongside LCHC and the Greater Boston Food Bank for the past five years has been an opportunity to bring fresh, healthy produce to food-insecure households that are at higher risk of developing chronic diseases such as hypertension and diabetes,” Waggoner said. “We look forward to continuing our partnership with the Mobile Market to distribute food to families throughout Lynn and beyond.”
