CCA Senior Vice President of Medical Services Dr. Lori Tishler appeared on the American Journal of Managed Care’s Managed Care Cast to speak about the article “Intensive Care Management of a Complex Medicaid Population: A Randomized Evaluation.” Tishler and co-author Dr. Jack Rowe discussed the collaboration between CCA and Mass General Brigham to serve patients participating in the iCMP PLUS program. Their analysis shows that reaching high-risk patients in their communities with tailored interventions can reduce unnecessary medical expenses and health care utilization. The study also demonstrates the value of partnerships between academic medical centers and community-based primary care.
“The biggest thing is working with, and for, the patient, meeting them where they need, and then addressing behavioral health and social needs,” Tishler said.
