CCA’s programs presented as examples of specialized interventions that expand palliative care to safety-net populations

“Specialized solutions may provide critical services outside of the conventional medical system. In Massachusetts, CCA…has pioneered two strategies in this spirit,” noted a recent NEJM Catalyst article titled Five Strategies to Expand Palliative Care in Safety-Net Populations. Both CCA’s Palliative Care and instED® programs were cited in the article as examples of successful strategies for treating safety-net populations. The article shared that CCA offers à la carte services for end-of-life care that allows patients to remain in their homes while receiving treatment, and instED allows patients to be evaluated at home instead of the emergency room. Both programs showed significant savings compared to the conventional medical system.
