In an article featured in The Lowell Sun, CCA’s Lauren Easton, SVP of clinical innovation, discusses efforts by CCA and other community organizations in Lowell to help deliver medical and social supports to migrant families currently living at the UMass Lowell Inn & Conference Center.
“Once the families arrive at the ICC, CCA’s integrated care model kicks in. Families are triaged for services such as primary health care, school enrollment needs, English language and job placement services. The primary focus, said Easton, is preparing the families for an independent life outside the emergency shelter system. ‘At the start of everybody’s journey, we immediately start looking for housing,’ she said.”
CCA is supporting similar initiatives at other locations across Massachusetts.
