Data powers our uncommon care® model

We acquire and merge mass quantities of claims, clinical, behavioral, and social data—but more importantly—we’ve invested in state-of-the-art systems and an exceptional team of data scientists who make these insights actionable for our clinicians and for the people we so proudly serve. There is no better demonstration of data-powered decision-making than our experience during the COVID-19 pandemic when we pivoted—seemingly overnight—to virtual care delivery.

At the start of the pandemic, we recognized the need to engage all of 40,000 health plan members. Because CCA Data Scientists had already built a powerful analytics architecture, we were able to quickly implement a new COVID-19 monitoring dashboard and a “COVID-19 high-risk” flag to deliver valuable predictive insights to our clinical staff.

Through these efforts, we prioritized outreach to individuals who were most at risk for adverse clinical, social, and behavioral consequences, identifying those especially vulnerable to food insecurity, those who might end up in the emergency department if they lost contact with a personal care assistant, and those who might significantly suffer from increased isolation.

The ability to use predictive analytics to power proactive decision-making on an individual member level helped CCA to better fulfill its mission in the most challenging of circumstances. Read the case study below to learn how we used data to help our members and patients during the COVID-19 pandemic.
