Rhode Island’s WJAR Channel 10 reported on CCA Rhode Island’s role in the expansion of Rhode Island Public Health Institute’s Food on the Move program, including a mobile market offering a 50% discount on purchases made with SNAP benefits.
The market, which was funded in part by CCA Rhode Island, was set up inside of Pawtucket’s Fogarty Manor, a senior living facility. Residents will be able to purchase food weekly on Tuesday afternoons.
“This is extremely important to me,” said Marcy Reyes, director of strategy and planning for CCA Rhode Island. “Making sure that folks have equitable access to some of the best foods makes me feel very proud to be a part of Commonwealth Care Alliance.”
