At-home COVID-19 tests are now covered for Commonwealth Care Alliance (CCA) Massachusetts members. CCA Senior Care Options and CCA One Care members can get up to eight (8) at-home rapid tests every 30 days at no charge.

If you are a CCA Senior Care Options or CCA One Care member, you can buy your rapid test kits at any pharmacy. Check out at the pharmacy counter with your CCA member ID card to receive the tests at no cost.

Below is a list of at-home COVID-19 test kits covered by CCA. If you buy a test kit that is not on the approved list below, it will not be covered by CCA. Each test included in a kit counts towards the eight (8) tests allowed per month. When you are buying test kits, pay attention to the number of tests included in the kit. For example, if you buy two (2) BinaxNOW kits with two (2) tests in each kit, you have purchased four (4) tests.

If you pay out-of-pocket, you should submit this OTC-COVID 19 At Home Test Claim Form to our partner, Navitus Health Solutions. You will be reimbursed for the cost of the test, up to a maximum of $12 per test. Only purchases made on or after January 15, 2022, will qualify for reimbursement. You must submit your original receipts with the form.

Not a CCA One Care or CCA Senior Care Options member?

If you are enrolled in a CCA Medicare Advantage or Medicare Maximum plan, you must use your red, white and blue Medicare card to get test kits at no charge from a participating pharmacy or provider.

A partial list of pharmacies and stores participating in the Medicare program is available here. Remember:

Medicare Advantage and Medicare Maximum members can also find locations to get free tests by calling 1-800-MEDICARE (1-800-633-4227)  (TTY 877-486-2048).

NOTE: CCA will not provide reimbursement for tests purchased out of pocket by Medicare Advantage and Medicare Maximum members. You must use your red, white, and blue Medicare card at a pharmacy or other pre-approved retailer to purchase  tests for zero cost.

All U.S. Residents May Order Free COVID-19 Test Kits From the Federal Government

The federal government has also made at-home COVID-19 tests free to order for any U.S. resident. Anyone may place up to two orders of four test kits (8 tests in total). Household members or their caregivers should order tests from the USPS1 at no charge.

To order, you must enter your name and shipping address. You will have the option to enter your email address for shipping updates. You will not need to give payment information to place the order. There is a limit of two orders per residential address, so only one person from each household should place these orders.

Visit COVIDtests.gov1 for more information and resources. If you cannot access the website or need assistance ordering your tests from the government, call 1-800-232-0233 (TTY 1-888-720-7489).

Remember: For all members, CCA covers COVID-19 PCR tests at no cost if:

PCR tests are lab tests administered by a healthcare professional. Results are typically returned within a few days.
