Supporting your life choices

You don’t need to choose between comfort and treatment. Our palliative care program is designed to improve the whole health of our members with serious illnesses.

Our team of experts will partner with you to help you receive the care you need in the setting you choose. We’re focused on helping you and your caregivers make plans according to your wishes and beliefs.

What is palliative care?

Palliative care aims to improve the quality of life for people living with a serious illness. This type of care is focused on relief from the symptoms and stress, and the goal is to treat the person as a whole—to consider the life experiences, people, and goals that are important to them.

When receiving palliative care, you can still receive treatment and therapies meant to improve, or even cure, your medical problems.

Working together for what matters most to YOU

Commonwealth Care Alliance palliative care is provided by a specially trained team of doctors, nurse practitioners, nurses, and counselors who work together with your other healthcare providers for an extra layer of support. The team will help you make informed decisions about your care.

We will meet you where you are in your journey—working with you to understand your needs, both physical and emotional, no matter how complex.

The palliative care team is here to help you and your caregivers:

Your comfort is important. We will work to deliver these services where you live and coordinate the care you receive in the community. You are in control of your healthcare choices. We are here to help you feel your best.
