Commonwealth Care Alliance (CCA) One Care (Medicare-Medicaid Plan) is a joint federal and state demonstration program. It seeks to better serve dually eligible individuals in Massachusetts, ages 21–64, by managing and integrating the physical, behavioral health, and long-term care needs of this population.

As a network provider for One Care, you and your staff are required to complete a special training series designed to help you better meet the needs of future enrollees. The training can be completed online (see below).

The CCA One Care Training Program Consists of Two Key Components

The first component consists of healthcare training developed by the University of Massachusetts (UMass) Medical School in conjunction with the One Care plans and other stakeholders. These trainings focus on topics that provide foundational information on the One Care program, and aim to help improve healthcare quality through person-centered, coordinated care. Initial topics include:

Other topics may be added as the One Care program continues to be implemented and as provider training needs are identified.

To accommodate different learning styles, these training programs are offered via live and recorded webinars and self-paced online modules. To learn more about all the training options and how to enroll, visit the One Care Shared Learning for Plan and Providers website.* UMass and the One Care plans will coordinate the tracking of your participation in these training requirements.

In order to be counted as attending the healthcare training, you will need to follow a link provided at the end of the webinar to attest to completion of the training.

You only need to complete training on each specific topic once. To ease your administrative burden and time commitment as a network provider, the One Care plans have worked with the University of Massachusetts Medical School and MassHealth to develop this single training program that coordinates the numerous federal and state training requirements. Once you have completed the training, you will receive a Certificate of Completion for your records.

The second component consists of training for our Health Home and Behavioral Health Home Partners. This required training is specific to your day-to-day work as a network provider with each One Care plan with which you are contracted. This training includes topics in the plan-specific model of care and administrative processes. Your contracted One Care plan(s) will independently coordinate this training for you.

Please remember: once you have signed a contract with any (or all) of the One Care plans, all providers and staff caring for these members are required to complete the applicable training.
