CCA is launching a new partnership with Exact Sciences aimed at enhancing colorectal cancer (CRC) screening efforts. Through this collaboration, we are providing Cologuard® test kits to eligible members at no cost. The Cologuard test is a prescription-based, at-home screening option for colon cancer that detects both abnormal DNA and blood in the stool.
Cologuard at-home testing is one way for CCA to meet HEDIS measures for CRC screening, an essential component of the preventive care and annual screenings key to the health of our members.
Eligibility
- Members age 45+ at average risk, identified through claims data
- Exclusions: prior colorectal cancer or adenomatous polyps, positive screening within prior six months, or high-risk conditions (IBD, hereditary syndromes, family history)
Program Details
- Kits mailed directly to eligible members
- Samples returned to Exact Sciences Laboratories
- Results available in approximately two weeks; patients notified when ready
Partnering with Providers
- If you are identified as the member’s PCP, you will receive results via mail or fax
- Positive results trigger outreach encouraging a follow-up colonoscopy; if outreach fails after three attempts, a letter is mailed
