Starting January 1, 2025, CVS Caremark® will begin administering pharmacy benefits on behalf of CCA. Most members will not experience any disruption from this pharmacy benefit manager (PBM) change.

In November, CCA will notify members who will experience a formulary or network pharmacy change. Prior to this notification, CCA will reach out to you with a list of your impacted patients, so you are prepared to help them review any medication changes.

Here are some important updates we’ll be sharing with CCA members in the coming months.

Updates to Our Pharmacy Network: CCA will continue to offer access to a large network of pharmacies, including CVS, Walgreens and many other independent pharmacies. If your patient’s pharmacy will no longer be in our network in 2025, we will notify them before the end of 2024. Please be aware you may need to get updated information from these patients to send prescriptions to a different pharmacy.

Updates to Our Formulary: CCA will continue to offer a wide variety of prescription medications. Formulary updates may include changes to medication brand, formulation or type. Most members will not be impacted by these changes. But if your patient is impacted, our team will advise them to reach out to their prescriber.

We will continue to share important updates regarding our new PBM over the coming months.
