Meet Whitney Moyer, CCA’s VP of Clinical Provider Integration. Whitney is responsible for the oversight and enhancement of clinical performance across CCA’s provider network. Named one of Modern Healthcare’s Top 25 Emerging Leaders in 2023, Whitney is a public health and health policy leader with more than a decade of experience supporting populations requiring complex care and long-term services and supports.
Q: Can you tell us about your background and what drew you to CCA’s mission?
A: My background is deeply rooted in supporting underserved and complex populations. I’ve spent my entire career dedicated to this mission, driven by both professional commitment and personal experience. During college, my father was diagnosed with a neurodegenerative disorder. This life-changing event not only shaped my career path but also instilled in me a profound understanding of the challenges faced by individuals and families dealing with complex health conditions. Later, my mother was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s, and I am currently the primary caretaker for both my parents. These experiences have given me a unique perspective and a personal stake in advocating for comprehensive, compassionate care.
Prior to joining CCA, I served as the Chief of Long-Term Services and Supports (LTSS) for MassHealth where I was responsible for the vision and strategy of LTSS programs and Integrated Care Organizations statewide. Joining CCA as the Vice President of Long-Term Services and Supports was a natural fit for me because CCA’s mission and values resonate deeply with my own. CCA’s commitment to delivering high-quality, person-centered care aligns with the standards I hold for my family, my community, and for all people. It’s essential for me to work with an organization that not only understands but also actively addresses the needs of those requiring complex care and long-term services and supports. CCA’s dedication to innovation and excellence in healthcare inspires me every day, and I am honored to contribute to such meaningful work.
Q: You recently took on a new role at CCA – Vice President of Clinical Provider Integration. What impact do you hope to have on our shared support of members who are our providers’ patients?
A: My primary goal is to enhance the integration across various disciplines—Behavioral Health (BH), LTSS, and Primary Care. By fostering better collaboration and communication with and among these providers, we can ensure that our members receive the highest quality care tailored to their unique, multifaceted needs.
We have a talented and extensive network dedicated to providing high-quality care for our members. To support this, we need robust systems and capabilities that facilitate seamless information exchange. This integration empowers providers with the necessary insights to make informed decisions, coordinate care effectively, and trust in the support provided by other disciplines involved in the patient’s care.
In this role, I have oversight of clinical performance and delegated care coordination, allowing me to assess our current operations and identify areas for improvement. My focus is on developing a comprehensive roadmap to expand provider capabilities, ensuring that we elevate care for those most in need. By working together and leveraging our collective expertise, we can create a more compassionate, cohesive and efficient care delivery system that truly supports our members.
Q: What are your top priorities and goals in the coming months?
A: In the coming months, I’m excited to:
- Implement a DME order system that equips primary care providers with the necessary tools to efficiently order supplies and equipment, and equips DME suppliers with clearer, detailed information that will make it easier for them to fulfill orders and get items to members more quickly.
- Enhance the information in-home providers receive about the comprehensive array of services and needs being uniquely coordinated in each member’s in-home service plan.
