Earlier this year, we shared the news that Commonwealth Care Alliance, Inc. (CCA) is switching to a new Pharmacy Benefit Manager (PBM), and you may be asked to help your CCA patients adjust any non-covered medications for 2025 or to connect with an in-network pharmacy.
Notifications will be sent out in early November with details on which of your patients may be on medications that will not be included in the 2025 formulary, or any patients who may need to switch pharmacy locations.
As a reminder, both our 2024 and 2025 formularies can be found at ccama.org/provider.
We have also developed fact sheets available on our website highlighting some of the most frequently prescribed non-covered medications and the alternatives available on our formulary:
Please remind your patients that our mail order pharmacy program is available and in-network, for added convenience. Please see additional details on the mail order option for your patients below.
Mail Order Program
Patients can get their prescription drugs shipped to their home through our network mail-order delivery program, CVS Caremark Mail Service Pharmacy. The pharmacy will contact patients, by phone, to get their approval before shipping any prescriptions. If we are unable to reach them for approval, their prescription will not be shipped. Typically, patients should expect to get their prescription drugs within 14 days. If patients do not receive prescription drug(s) within this time, please contact us at 866-610-2273 (TTY 711), 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., 7 days a week. To learn more about mail-order pharmacies, CCA members can refer to Chapter 5 of their Evidence of Coverage/Member Handbook.
