Jessica Vida, CCA’s Senior Director of Ancillary Programs shares her thoughts on what our network providers should know about CCA’s supplemental benefits.
Q: Which of CCA’s supplemental programs would you most want to highlight for providers in support of their patients’ well-being?
A: CCA has excellent programs to support our providers in caring for their patients who are our members. I have a “Top 5,” if you will, of supplemental services that I feel are most important for our providers to know may be available to their patients:
Dental Benefits
CCA’s dental program encourages members to receive regular preventive oral health visits, offers expanded dental benefits, and includes a network of quality dental providers. Members have access to comprehensive dental benefits as part of their coverage for all CCA plans with unlimited annual maximums.
- Our dental benefits include unlimited dental care coverage, exams, X-rays, cleanings (4 per year), fillings, root canals, crowns, dentures and immediate dentures that do not share the same frequency, and implants. In addition to the benefits listed, our Senior Care Options (SCO) plan offers members coverage of four implants to replace missing teeth per year and bridge coverage.
- Our One Care plan provides members with implants when needed to support full dentures.
Transportation Benefits
CCA’s transportation benefits aim to increase access to care for members who otherwise do not have the means to travel independently. CCA strives to ensure our members keep crucial medical appointments and have access to other health-related activities such as grocery shopping. Transportation benefits are available for both CCA SCO and One Care members.
- Our transportation benefits include $0 unlimited rides to medical appointments and eight monthly non-medical one-way trips such as trips to the grocery store.
Routine Vision Benefits
CCA prioritizes eye health as a critical component of overall well-being. We partner with leading eye care providers to offer high-quality services and support for our members’ visual needs. Vision benefits are included with all plans.
- Our vision benefits include a $0 annual eye exam and
- SCO members receive up to $350 annually for eyewear including frames, lenses, contact lenses and upgrades.
- One Care members receive up to $125 annually for frames or contact lenses.
Routine Hearing Benefits
CCA’s hearing benefits are available to all members and include an annual in-person hearing test.
- Our hearing benefits include $0 routine hearing exams, including fittings, repairs, batteries, and replacements, and up to $500 per hearing aid for a combined benefit of $1,000.
Healthy Savings (OTC) Card
Members enrolled with CCA Senior Care Options (HMO D-SNP) receive a Healthy Savings card.
- The benefits of the Healthy Savings Card include up to $475 per calendar quarter for approved over-the-counter (OTC) products, including food* and utilities* for qualifying members.
- All members can use their quarterly allowance toward OTC products.
- Food and utilities are part of Special Supplemental Benefits for the Chronically Ill (SSBCI) and available to members who have an active qualifying chronic condition, require intensive care coordination and those at risk of hospitalization.
- Members must be approved by CCA to use their quarterly allowance for food and utilities.
- The food and utilities benefits mentioned are part of a special supplemental program for the chronically ill. Members with chronic heart failure, cardiovascular disorders, chronic lung disorders, dementia, diabetes and more may be eligible for these additional benefits. Not all members with those conditions will qualify. Certain restrictions may apply. Only at participating locations.
