Mobile integrated health solution offers in-home testing, nebulizers, antibiotics and more seven days a week
Before your patients head to the emergency department with cold and flu symptoms, instED may be able to help them in-home. instED paramedics can assess and treat your patients who have acute respiratory issues or flare-ups of chronic conditions.
instED mobile health providers are able to perform rapid flu, COVID and strep tests as part of an assessment for your patients with respiratory symptoms. They also can test for RSV.
In-home paramedics carry medications including first-dose antibiotics and nebulizer treatments, and instED doctors who participate virtually in every visit can prescribe any medication needed.
It’s easy to request an instED visit:
- Call 833-946-7833 – phone lines are open from 8.a.m. to 10 p.m.
- Log into your instED provider portal account from the web or the instED provider app – available 24/7; visits requested after-hours will be scheduled first thing the next morning.
instED services patients 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. 365 days/year, including all weekends and holidays, and visits can be scheduled up to two days in advance. The instED service area includes Massachusetts (except Cape Cod and the islands), Rhode Island (except for Block Island and Prudence Island), and Southern New Hampshire (Rockingham and Hillsborough counties).
A quick note about flu shots
You are likely recommending a flu shot to each patient you see this Fall. And, some patients are hesitant for a variety of reasons. You, as their trusted provider, may have the best chance of identifying and addressing any questions or concerns, and encouraging your patients to receive this important vaccine to avoid serious illness or complications.
We have found some of the following tips to be helpful in talking to patients about vaccine hesitancy:
- If your patient hasn’t been vaccinated, ask them why; listen to their reasons and try to address any gaps in knowledge or barriers to obtaining the vaccine.
- Ask them if you can follow up, at an agreed-upon time, to continue to encourage vaccination, or confirm they were able to obtain the vaccine.
- Work with your care team members to arrange home visits if necessary.
