Recent Updates
Upcoming Hospital Closures. Last month, Steward announced that it plans to close Carney Hospital in Dorchester and Nashoba Valley Medical Center in Ayer. Both sites have started to reduce their services and will close on August 31, 2024.
If you have upcoming appointments and services at these facilities, contact your primary care physician (PCP). If necessary, your PCP may be able to help you make a change to a different facility. CCA Member Services may also be able to help. Call us at (866) 610-2273 (TTY 711), 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., 7 days a week.
For questions and support, you can also contact the Commonwealth’s dedicated Steward Health Care call center at (833) 305-2070. The call center is available Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. E.T. (excluding Massachusetts holidays).
Please note that Steward Medical Group and Steward Healthcare Network remain open and continue to serve patients.
Did you receive a Steward bankruptcy letter? CCA has learned that some Steward patients received a “Notice of Deadlines for Filing Proofs of Claim” letter from a bankruptcy court. For questions, contact the Commonwealth’s dedicated Steward Health Care call center at (617) 468-2189, or toll-free (833) 305-2070. The call center is available Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. E.T. (excluding Massachusetts holidays).

- Essex
- Middlesex
- Suffolk
- Norfolk
- Bristol
- Plymouth
- Barnstable
- Dukes
- Nantucket
If you receive a bill from an out-of-network urgent care clinic, or for other questions, call CCA Member Services. We can help.
