CCA Health Michigan Director of Clinical Operations Linda Perkins, RN, appeared on WDIV Channel 4’s Live in the D segment to discuss symptoms of heart disease and tips to maintain heart health. These tips include moving more – aiming for 150 minutes of physical activity per week, as recommended by the American Heart Association.

Perkins also suggests cutting down on salt, avoiding sugary snacks, and eliminating drinking alcohol and smoking cigarettes.

“Some of the risk factors people need to be aware of for heart disease are drinking, smoking, poor eating habits, lack of exercise, diabetes, high blood pressure, and high cholesterol,” she said.
