CCA Health Rhode Island State Government Relations Director Sophie Hansen, LICSW, appeared with CareLink RI CEO Chris Gadbois on the Bartholomewtown podcast to discuss Rhode Island’s mental health landscape.
Hansen discussed the importance of integrating mental healthcare into traditional healthcare to avoid silos between medical and behavioral health concerns. She also talked about barriers to patients accessing care, including high demand for clinicians and disparities caused by a lack of culturally competent and inclusive care.
Hansen also discussed the importance of breaking down stigmas surrounding mental health issues.
