Umar Farooq, CCA’s General Manager of Massachusetts, recently discussed CCA’s expansion into Berkshire County on WSBS, a local radio station.
In the interview, Farooq explained that effective January 1, 2021, CCA is licensed to service the 1,500 members in the county who are dually eligible for Medicare and Medicaid (MassHealth) and can enroll in One Care. CCA is the first and only plan of its kind in Berkshire County.
“We’re local to the community and we hire local people to really provide that concierge-like medicine and care coordination that this vulnerable population really needs,” Farooq said.
