CCA Director of Geriatrics Dr. Debbie Sylvester discussed key components to aging well with WDIV Channel 4. She noted social support systems, trusted relationships with medical care providers, and a regular exercise routine as three key components to healthy aging. Any time after age 50 is a good time to start planning a healthy aging checklist, she said. Making home modifications ahead of time can help achieve a safe environment for someone with limited mobility, for instance.
“Planning now for the future can make a big difference and give people peace of mind,” she said.
