Dr. Elizabeth Cherella, a CCA Primary Care doctor, appeared on Western Mass News to discuss the negative health impacts of loneliness. To combat the toll of social isolation, CCA established a Phone Buddy program in Massachusetts. As part of this program, CCA employees and members are paired up for weekly phone calls.

The calls are not medical in nature, but serve as opportunities to foster social connection.

“It’s a great way to help members feel connected to the world, and it’s an overall reminder that we need to reach out to people who need to hear from us,” she said.
