Dr. Nazlim Hagmann, Acting Chief Medical Officer for CCA Health Michigan, appeared on WDIV Channel 4 Live in the D to discuss recognizing signs of mental health issues including depression and anxiety.

Depression can feel like the lights are dimmed and there is little joy in onetime areas of interest, while anxiety can feel more “wired,” with thoughts moving quickly. Dr. Hagmann emphasized the need to seek out help in the form of individual therapy or support groups.

“First, talk to friends, family, and people that you trust. You will find that many of them have dealt with anxiety and depression and will be able to point you to the right resources,” she said.
