With Medicare Open Enrollment underway, Joe Zaza, regional vice president of sales for CCA Health Rhode Island, talked with health reporter Barbara Morse on Studio 10. Zaza explained the different parts of Medicare and why individuals should consider enrolling in other plans such as Part D or advantage plans.

“Most individuals who are on original Medicare Parts A and B will also opt to separately enroll in a part D plan for prescription drugs,” Zaza said. He explained that in addition, there are Medicare Advantage plans known as part C. “Medicare Advantage plans are offered through CCA Health Rhode Island and other private insurance companies, and cover everything that original Medicate does. They also offer additional benefits such as dental, vision, hearing, and prescription drug coverage.”

He also mentioned the CCA Medicare Maximum plan and the added benefits it offers for individuals who are eligible for both Medicaid and Medicare. Zaza encouraged viewers to contact representatives from CCA Health Rhode Island who are available to answer questions about plans or help with enrollment.
