Will Yu, General Manager of CCA Health California, appeared in a segment on KXTV ABC-10 News to discuss this year’s Medicare Open Enrollment.

Yu discussed who qualifies for Medicare and explained the four parts to the plan. Parts A and B are known as “original Medicare” and cover inpatient and outpatient services. Part D is for prescriptions, while Part C is what is known as a Medicare Advantage plan. Such plans provide all the coverage of Medicare plus extra benefits.

The CCA Health California plan covers eye and hearing exams, eyewear, and hearing aids. In addition, Yu explained, “We also focus on the social, cultural, and geographic factors that affect our members. For example, if we have members who are experiencing isolation or loneliness, or insecurity with food or housing, we connect them with culturally sensitive services, often within the community.”

The annual open enrollment period runs from October 15 to December 7. Yu recommended that individuals do some research to determine what plan is best for them. He encouraged viewers to go to the CCA Health California website or contact representatives for assistance.
