CCA’s MAPD offerings in Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Michigan, and California provide comprehensive coverage

BOSTON, MA – October 11, 2022 – Ahead of the Medicare Annual Enrollment Period (AEP) beginning on October 15, Commonwealth Care Alliance® (CCA), a multi-state integrated care system, has announced its Medicare Advantage Prescription Drug (MAPD) offerings in Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Michigan and California. All plans were specifically designed to offer a broad spectrum of medical, behavioral health, and social support services that can improve long-term health and wellbeing. This will be the first AEP that the rapidly growing company will bring its innovative models of complex care to all four states.

Massachusetts: CCA is launching CCA Medicare Premier (PPO), a new MAPD plan designed to support the health needs of residents of senior housing facilities in Middlesex, Norfolk, Suffolk, and Worcester counties. CCA Medicare Premier combines comprehensive medical, dental, and prescription drug benefits. The plan provides a distinctive approach to care management that prioritizes health and wellness, and addresses social determinants of health, such as 40 one-way medical and non-medical rides a year and coverage for an in-home support team to help with a variety of household tasks. CCA Medicare Premier will be offered along with the organization’s two existing MAPD plans in Massachusetts: CCA Medicare Value (PPO) and CCA Medicare Preferred (PPO).

Rhode Island: CCA Health Rhode Island has enhanced the comprehensive medical, dental and prescription drug benefits already offered in its CCA Medicare Value (PPO) and CCA Medicare Preferred (PPO) plans with increased maximum dental coverage for 2023, with the CCA Medicare Preferred plan offering up to $2,250 and the CCA Medicare Value plan offering up to $2,500. Available to all Medicare-eligible Rhode Islanders, both plans have also doubled their Healthy $avings card benefits1, with the CCA Medicare Preferred plan offering up to $480 per year and the CCA Medicare Value plan offering up to $420 per year for over-the-counter medicines, vitamins, medical supplies and care products. CCA Health Rhode Island is also the only health plan in the state offering an annual sneaker allowance of up to $100.

California: CCA Health California is offering new benefits for its 2023 MAPD plan, CCA Medicare Excel (HMO). This $0 monthly plan available to residents in San Joaquin and Santa Clara counties combines comprehensive medical, vision, and prescription drug care while also covering extra benefits that support independent lifestyles and wellbeing. These include over-the-counter health products, transportation to medical appointments, and gym memberships. The plan also covers up to $100,000 for worldwide emergency care to meet the needs of seniors who travel and need extra health coverage protection.

Michigan: CCA Health Michigan offers comprehensive medical, dental, vision, and prescription drug benefits through its CCA Medicare Excel (HMO) and CCA Medicare Ultima (HMO) plans. Both also cover allowances for over-the-counter health productsand gym memberships, as well as access to companion care services that help with transportation, housekeeping, and other daily tasks. These plans are available to residents in Genesee, Lapeer, Macomb, Monroe, Oakland, St. Clair and Wayne counties.
